Discours de fin d'année de Julianna
*This speech was made at the End of Year Party in 2026 by Julianna, the new Head of School.*
Good afternoon everyone, Before I say anything else, I would like to thank Abi. Leading a school is no small task, and so much of what a Head of School does happens quietly behind the scenes. Abi has given so much of her time, energy, and care to BMS, always holding the child at the centre of every decision and every conversation, and supporting the wider community with great thoughtfulness. Anyone who has worked with her knows the depth of her commitment to this school. Abi, thank you for everything you have given to BMS. We wish you every happiness in your next chapter.
As many of you know, from September I will be taking on the role of Head of School. I feel very honoured to do so, and very aware of the responsibility that comes with it.
BMS has been a very important part of my life for the past three years. I’ve grown here as an educator, learned alongside dedicated colleagues, and had the privilege of getting to know so many wonderful children and families. I feel very grateful to continue this journey in a school where the child is truly at the centre of everything.
One of the things I value most about a Montessori environment is the way we see children—not as people we shape, but as individuals we observe, support, and trust.
That same principle extends to home and school. It is a partnership built on trust and respect for the child. Trust that our communication is rooted in observation, that we are always focused on the child’s development, and that even in difficult moments, we are working together.
During my time at BMS, I’ve learned so much from the children themselves.
You’ve taught me patience and humility. You remind us daily that you are capable, and we are often amazed by what you can do.
What makes BMS special is the people: children who are curious and independent, staff who observe and guide, and families who trust the journey and walk alongside us.
As I look ahead, I feel very positive about the future of BMS—not because everything is perfect, but because the foundations are strong: trust, respect for the child, and shared belief in their potential.
I look forward to strengthening the connection between home and school, and ensuring communication remains open, respectful, and rooted in understanding each other.
Most importantly, that every child continues to feel seen, trusted, and supported.
Thank you for your trust, and for making BMS such a special Montessori community.
